It's Rachel who learns to walk the best all strutted in those magic high heels. Lucy, Rachel, me tee-tottering like so. Down to the corner where the men can't take their eyes off us. We must be Christmas.

Mr. Benny at the corner grocery puts down his important cigar: Your mother know you got shoes like that? Who give you those?

Nobody.

Them are dangerous, he says. You girls too young to be wearing shoes like that. Take them shoes off before I call the cops, but we just run.

On the avenue a boy on a homemade bicycle calls out: Ladies, lead me to heaven.

But there is nobody around but us.

Do you like these shoes? Rachel says yes, and Lucy says yes, and yes I say, these are the best shoes. We will never go back to wearing the other kind again. Do you like these shoes?

In front of the laundromat six girls with the same fat face pretend we are invisible. They are the cousins, Lucy says, and always jealous. We just keep strutting.

Across the street in front of the tavern a bum man on the stoop.

2) So k?nnen Sie eine Einladung wie in 1) annehmen 可以接受1)中所提的邀請：

*Danke gern. 謝謝，我很樂意。

*Vielen Dank, ich komme gern zum Mittagessen/ Abendessen/ Geburstag/ Tee/ Kaffee. 多謝，我很高興來吃午飯／晚飯／參加生日慶祝會／喝茶／喝咖啡。

*Vielen Dank, wir kommen gern zu einer Tasse Tee/ Kaffee. 多謝，我很高興來喝茶／喝咖啡。

*Vielen Dank, ich komme gern zu einem Glas Wein/ Bier. 十分感謝，我很高興來喝杯酒／啤酒。

3) So k?nnen Sie eine Einladung ablehnen 可以這樣拒絕別人的邀請：

*Danke, aber wir k?nnen leider nicht kommen. 謝謝，但抱歉我不能來。

*Ich habe leider keine Zeit/ viel zu tun. 很遺憾，我沒有時間／很忙。

*Leider sind wir dann nicht mehr hier. 很遺憾，我們那時已不在這里了。

*Tut mir leid, morgen habe ich schon etwas vor. 很抱歉，明天我已經有安排了。

4) So fragen Sie nach dem Zeitpunkt der Einladung 可以這樣詢問邀請的時間：

*Um wieviel Uhr? 幾點鐘呢？

*Wann darf ich kommen? 我該什么時候來？

*Um wieviel Uhr dürfen wir kommen? 我們幾點鐘可以來？

5) So k?nnen Sie eine Einladung wie in 4) antworten 可以這樣回答4)中所提的問題：

*Kommen Sie doch heute Abend/ morgen Nachmittag/ am Sonntag. 就今天晚上/明天下午/星期天吧。

*Kommen Sie doch um eins/ ein Uhr. 一點鐘吧。

*Komm doch um halb drei. 兩點半吧
